Hula For Beginners


"Hula, Hawaiian dance, is one of the most important cultural arts of Hawai'i. Through movement, hula tells of the history, legends, and beauty of the islands."

No prior dance experience is necessary! Each lesson builds upon the one that came before it. Learn all of the hula basics,including:


• correct hula posture


• traditional basic steps


• simple choreography


• dancing with hula implements


• learning about Hawaiian culture and history as it


relates to hula


If you've never taken hula before, this is the class for you!




The hula classes include dances in the ancient form of hula (hula kahiko) as well as the more contemporary form of hula (hula 'auana). Hawaiian history and culture are also discussed as they relate to each hula learned in class. All classes are conducted in a positive and respectful atmosphere that allows for individual variance in learning and mastery. Expect to be challenged and to get a great workout in every class. Hula is for fun, for fitness, and for life!

-Live performances and special events teachings for (weddings, anniversary, birthdays, corporate events...etc) In Hawaii it is customary for the bride to dance hula for her new husband.

25 people or less ($200.00)
50 people or less ($250.00)
50 + people ($300.00)
Birthday party Lesson $150.00

*A deposit of $25.00 to confirm event date

(please provide us two weeks in advance when confirming a date for event)

*last minute event charge of $50.00 for events within 10 days prior.

Miss Hampton University 2009-2010


Aloha Virginia, We would like to congratulate Nikole Churchill on winning her crown as Miss Hampton University 2009-2010. We are so proud of her. It was my pleasure and honor to have worked with Nikole in choreographing the hula/tahitian song used in this event. Nikole represented not only her family but our Hawaiian Culture and shared with her fellow alumni the art of hula and tahitian in her talent portion. We are blessed for having Nikole as one of our Ohana of Aloha Malihini Hula Dance group. Once again CONGRATULATIONS to Nikole and her family.
